This is the bird species that makes my heart go pitter-patter the most during spring and fall migration of our warblers. Especially if one happens to be a hybrid with a Blue-winged Warbler, which this is not. Golden-winged Warblers are dazzling, uncommon and in most cases are so shy that if you're lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one, its usually just that, a glimpse. This one, which I believe is a female (or could be a youngster), popped onto this random perch deep in the woods for about a second or two. Clicked out in Mayesville, Alabama, on 9/25/20.
