  • I photographed this cool little Carolina Wren in jacksonville, Florida during early morning. It was hanging out in our neighborhood, about 2 nautical miles from the Atlantic Ocean, just on the other side of the intercoastal waterway. I took this photograph using Canon 40d and the 400 5.6 prime lens. Shot in raw, converted using Digital Photo Professional.

  • I photographed this White eared hummingbird at Miller canyon in southeast Arizona. I captured this photo when the bird was sitting about 20 feet from the feeders. This beautiful male would visit one of the feeders and then come back to the same resting spot when not eating. This photo was taken using a Canon 7d and 400 5.6 prime lens. Shot using jpeg "standard" setting out of the 7d.

  • Cooper's Hawk near the Tennessee River in Decatur, Alabama. At first I thought this was a Sharp-shinned hawk, but based on the birds size and the lack of markings on the belly, I have concluded that it is a Cooper's Hawk. If you look closely, you can see blood on its claws and beak. It must have just finished a meal.
